ComTel is one of five global sites to be conducting a field trial on a virtual IP PBX running on VMware and a Mitel PBX.  To my knowledge, we are one of the first companies to install and use a virtual PBX.

We are intending to provide both premise based solutions as well as push them out as a hosted VoIP solution.

What does this mean? How is it different than what is available from other VOIP solutions?
Hi Lou,
What are the projected benefits of this product to business?
Specifically will there be energy savings that you expect to realize.
If so I am interested to learn more as any IT based energy saving product or service is important to my Green IT Consultancy.
From a hosted business VoIP perspective, we will be able to provide traditional PBX type capabilities and features that other data oriented hosted VoIP providers simply can't. Our solution will be incredilby more robust and flexible to meet the needs of challenging communications requirements. All while delivering the advantages of hosted VoIP solution.

Almost all local hosted VoIP providers came to the market with a data background so they don't know what they don't know about telephony. Our software suites are the result of many years of satisfying customers' voice communications needs.

As I am sure you appreciate, one of the advantages of virtualized servers is dramatically reduced server room requirements for rack space, electricity and cooling.

One of the last frontiers in virtual technology is the area of voice communications and related applciations. Until now, no one has successfully deployed a virtualized IP PBX in an operational environment. ComTel is one of five sites globally to do so. We have been running on a virtual machine for about two weeks now and intial results are impressive.

Virtualizign the PBX is the first step. Next will come voice mail and then adding other applications within the Unified Communications family like IM, desktop video conferencing and web based collaboration.

Aloha e Lou. We are glad you are taking the dive with TechHui!

We support your vision of having a large number of state, federal and business information workers telecommute for the benefit of households with two working parents and the benefit of our environment.
Hello David,

The Telework bill I sent you is from last year. This year, the bill proposes to create a state CIO position and an office of Telework to advocate for it.
