Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone here is an expert on sound in MBP's.

I don't have a piano, so I'm trying to use GarageBand's piano simulator to practice aural training. The problem is, the piano simulator in GarageBand doesn't sound anything like the grand and upright pianos at UH practice rooms in the music building. After practicing for months on a real piano, it's very difficult to listen to something that sounds 'almost' like a piano. At the high octave end, it sounds pretty close. But at the low octave end, it sounds like a synthesizer. It sounds more like a string or brass instrument than a piano.

Does anyone know how to make GarageBand keyboard simulator sound like a real piano? Are there any other tools I can use to create realistic piano timbre?

Any pointers is greatly appreciated.

Yes, I heard this too. But I was more concerned with the timbre, not pitch. The lower pitch keys just doesn't sound like a piano. Even if it was a little flat.

A few of the pianos at UH are out of tune. So I know what an out of tune piano sounds like. GB just doesn't sound anything like a piano at the higher and lower octaves.
