Having lived with an unlocked G1 in Europe for the Summer, I can tell you that the Android stack isn't all that great... yet.This is precisely why I think right now is a great time to get into it :)

Windows Mobile is too small to matter, and I think the BlackBerry will be a historic note soon enough.

Phones are lighters, you'll get a new, cooler one soon.Expensive lighters.. especially with a 2 year contract :) and it is not really about the phone, but the ability to program for it using open standards. So far the choices for android phones are not that impressive, will likely be waiting for better alternatives..
