Hi all,
I'm new to the group, and have been joining groups like this to try to find people who can help me bring my concept to market. I've been developing a board game for about a year and I'm finally ready to send it off to the printer, but I have to admit--I don't know what the next steps are.
Anyone with some experience, I'd love to connect. Scott [at] GreenBusinessOwner.com
You can see a video about our game here:

Thanks!

Hi Scott,
I think a key decision you'll be making is whether you're going to self-publish the game, or work with a publisher to produce and promote it. If you're going to self-publish, then you'll do the production (printing), fulfillment, and all marketing for the game. If you go with a publisher, they'll take that on (and charge a hefty fee for the privilege). I wouldn't send it to the printer without figuring that out, since if you decide to go with a publisher / distributor they'll likely want to review all your art, and perhaps your content as well.
With this kind of game, you might also think about lining up sponsors to finance the production and distribution. It's the kind of thing a company that's interested in sustainability or clean energy might find interesting to get behind.
I'm sure there are lists of game publishers out there on the web. If you can't find one, you could look through the game descriptions at www.boardgamegeek.com and pull out the names of the publishers from the descriptions there.
Best,
Doug
