HB 2319  Venture Accelerator Funding Bill
The House Committee on Economic Revitalization and Business passed out the Venture Accelerator Bill with some minor amendments.

The funding provided by this legislation will be helpful in providing the mentoring and seed capital needed to develop projects able to successfully compete for follow-on funding.  This effort will address a significant gap in our venture financing continuum.  With sufficient resources, the effort could benefit several industry clusters: IT, clean tech, and digital media, for example.

The bill will now be referred to the House Committee on Finance.  This Committee will evaluate this bill in the context of the other funding priorities of the State.  Testimony in support of this bill will be important in getting this bill passed by Finance.  I will let you know when a hearing has been scheduled.
