User Experience/ Interface Designer- Ground level Startup

We are looking for a User Experience/Interface Designer to join our dedicated team. The UED will be responsible for the look and feel of all of our on-line tools, sites, widgets, applications and dashboards and will therefore be critical to our success.

The ideal candidate will have extensive user experience/interaction design, interface design and general online graphics experience in a consumer-facing context. Ideal candidates will also have experience with B2B applications and social media.

The developer in you must:
- Think asynchronously
- Know how to do XHR without using a framework
- Understand the current weaknesses of the W3C spec
- Know the difference between JavaScript vs. ECMAScript, XHTML vs. HTML, UI vs.UX design

The designer in you must:
- Have strong opinions about good UX design -- and be able to defend them
- Naturally create designs worthy of csszengarden.com -- extra bonus points for actually having a design on there
- Have examples of your work up on the web someplace where we can see it

Position level: Lead/Architect - This is a ground level opportunity starting as an individual contributor position, as we currently do not have a team.
