Hawaiian Hope is a technology based non profit organization with the objectives to address the parallel issues of homeless services and disaster management.

We are Seeking:
Hawaiian Hope is seeking to fill TWO exceptionally rewarding volunteer positions. 1) As Site Manager; 1) As Volunteer Coordinator. Both positions are currently volunteer but will eventually turn into full time paying positions. We are looking for volunteers that can commit to at least 20 hours per week for these positions on a regular schedule.

** As Site Manager you will carry out the day to day operations, interact with the public and other non profit orgs and you will report directly to and assist the Executive Director with scheduling and other duties.

** As Volunteer Coordinator you will recruit and manage volunteers. This includes soliciting, recruiting, screening, scheduling and providing some training on standards of operations and expectations. You will report directly to and assist the Executive Director.

Hawaiian Hope is newly located at 611 N. King St., our new operations facility of over 1,300 square feet. In this facility we are building a public access computer lab and classroom, in addition to receiving donations of and repairing computers. Positions will be performing duties primarily at this location. We are located near the intersection of King and Dillingham and near most major bus routes. Parking is also available.

Organizational Summary :
Over the past 3 years Hawaiian Hope has experienced continuous expansion and growth do to our highly sought after and much needed technology services. Hawaiian Hope currently provides IT services to a total of 10 homeless shelters on O'ahu with several others throughout the state pending agreements. Hawaiian Hope designs web based data management software, the "Ohana Management System", for organizations to manage their facilities and day-to-day operations. We currently manage the data of over 4,000 homeless or formerly homeless individuals. By end of 2009 we expect to be working with 20 shelters and managing the data of over 8,500 people.

Hawaiian Hope :
* Compiles data used to measure effectiveness of services; reports data directly to various state offices.
* Uses donated computers and builds computer classrooms in homeless shelters.
* Gives free computers to individuals and families when they move out of shelters and into housing.
* Has given away more than 200 computers - including laptops, to the homeless, formerly homeless, homeless shelters and other non profit orgs.
* Currently has over 300 computers in stock awaiting refurbishment and redistribution.
* Expects to receive and redistribute close to 3,000 computers during 2009
* Owns and operates as a web hosting company and utilizes a secured data center in Texas.
* Is Building Mobile Computer Labs and Disaster Communication Centers from former Tour Buses
* Is Building a Mobile Laundry Service and Disaster Water Purification Center from former Tour Buses.
* Is an active member of PIC - Partners in Care - the Continuum of Care for Honolulu -
* Is a member of "Tech Hui" an online community of more than 700 IT People in Hawaii.
* Was nominated for both a "Community Service Award" and a "High Tech Leaders Award" through the Pacific Technology Foundation during 2007
* Maintains a staff of volunteer technicians to work on and repair donated computers.
* Has more than 35 volunteers eager to serve the needs of technology to the homeless.
* Logged more than 900 (nine hundred) volunteer hours during the month of January, 2009
* To date has not received any money in the form of government grants.
* Is Presently "Self Funded" and is building revenue streams for our long term sustainability.
