Kamehameha Schools has a Sr. Manager position available in the Information Security Office at Kawaiaha'o Plaza, O'ahu. Deadline to apply: 6/26/2012.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field. Bachelor's Degree in network/systems administration, programming, or development background is strongly preferred.

On the job experience may be substituted if deemed appropriate.

Summary of Minimum Requirements:

  • 5 years of demonstrated experience in information security programs and a minimum of 8 years of demonstrated Information Management experience.
  • Demonstrated work experience in the areas of:

    • Information Security Governance
    • Information Security Risk Management
    • Information Security Program Development
    • Information Security Program Management
    • Incident Management and Response
  • Progressively responsible professional experience in guiding, directing and supervising an operating unit responsible for organizational quality performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, reconcile and synthesize quality control information and prepare final reports and analyses for senior management within prescribed time parameters and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of processes and internal controls in a business environment and experience with business process re-engineering and change management projects.
  • Network/systems administration, programming, or development background is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated work experience in the use of security principles; risk assessment policies and standards; information security best practices, products and technologies; and network technologies.
  • Demonstrated work experience and proficiency in a broad range of operating systems, platforms, client/server and web applications, and security services such as authentication and encryption technologies in the areas of network security skills and knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and associated vulnerabilities.
  • Demonstrated work experience in the management of direct report staff.
  • Demonstrated work experience in the preparation of written reports, training materials, and conducting meetings and training sessions.
  • Demonstrated work experience in presenting to Audit Committees, Executive Committees, Board of Directors, or similar type groups.
  • Demonstrated work experience in the use of federal and state laws, and of regulations relating to security and investigative fields of an educational institution.
  • Requires the understanding of risks associated with new technology and the ability to define appropriate controls.
  • Requires knowledge of electronic and computer systems that are used in educational institutions.
  • Requires proficient skills in the use of personal computer and Microsoft Office software applications.


Summary of Duties:

  • Responsible for developing the overall information security strategy including: planning, execution and operation of the Kamehameha Schools Information Security Program.
  • Developing and implementing KS information security strategy and related initiatives.
  • Acting in the capacity of the internal subject matter expert on information security.
  • Working with other enterprise level groups to continuously analyze KS' risk environment.
  • Responding to changes in KS' threat and vulnerability landscape.
  • Provide consulting services to business units and ITD to ensure the protection of systems and applications against threats, exploitation and vulnerabilities within parameters set by KS.
