Senior Software Development Lead Position

We are seeking a Senior Software Development Lead/Architect with at least 15 years experience in software engineering. We are seeking a Senior Software Development Lead/Architect with at least 15 years experience in software engineering. Must be able
to demonstrate:

• extensive years of programming experience in Ruby, C#, Java, Javascript, and SQL;
  
• the ability to learn and apply new technologies as well as to troubleshoot, correct, and enhance existing products;
  
• at least 8 years experience in designing and architecting enterprise software solutions that are reliable, maintainable, secure, and scalable;
  
• experience with a variety of development environments and business models;
  
• history of successfully completing simultaneous tasks and projects.

As a leader, must be: an excellent communicator and coordinator; a leader that can quickly gain respect from the technical team; friendly and approachable, willing to be interrupted for technical guidance; comfortable with multiple development methodologies such as waterfall and agile, as well as modeling techniques.

The ideal candidate will have a broad background as:

a) technical coach in a commercial Agile environment,

b) systems engineering lead in a government contract environment,

c) business intelligence developer,

d) CMMI implementer, and

e) software architect for backend, middleware, and user interface applications.

Must have a bachelor or master degree in Computer Science and be able to work in our downtown Honolulu office. Must be a US Citizen and be able to receive DoD security clearance.
 

The Senior Software Development Lead/Architect:

• directs overall software development work and ensures it is consistent with established standards, processes, and paradigms;
  
• architects software systems according to strategic directions and customer requirements;
  
• applies engineering practices to software development including feasibility analysis and proof-of-concept;
  
• ensures completion of technical documentation such as system specification, design, and system interfaces;
  
• mentors and coaches other developers on the team; assigns work tasks to development team as needed;
  
• keeps current on relevant technologies and vendor offerings, and applies them as part of integrated solutions to customer requirements;
  
• contributes to technical project management and company decisions.
