Senior Rails Developer

Contix, a Honolulu-based SaaS startup, is looking for engineering talent to assist in building its core product and supporting tools. As an early stage startup, new developers will play a significant role in the engineering team and, as such, expectations are very high in terms of skill, motivation, self-organizing skills and productivity. Requirements
  1. Comprehensive knowledge of the Ruby on Rails framework
  2. Demonstrable success with nontrivial Rails applications
  3. Familiarity with design patterns and software architecture
  4. Comfort with enterprise software architecture including API design and building highly scalable systems
  5. A passion for creating great software

Highly Desirable
  1. Javascript
  2. jQuery
  3. Deep knowledge of active record and data modelling

Nice-to-Haves
  1. Multilingual applicants
  2. Experience in jRuby
  3. Experience with queueing systems, esp. RabbitMQ
  4. Experience with massive scale computing
  5. Knowledge of the finance industry
  6. Prior work in natural language processing, machine learning
