Kamehameha Schools has a Senior IT Trainer position available at Kawaiaha'o Plaza, O'ahu. The deadline to apply: 4/4/2012.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 2 (two) years of Minimum Related Work Experience Requirement.
  • Working knowledge of Apple and Windows based systems, peripherals and software applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications to prepare recommendations for management, staff and external audiences.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
  • Working knowledge of the internet/intranet, servers, networks and video technologies.
  • Ability to work independently, with other individuals one-on-one, and as part of a team.
  • Ability to present complex subject matter in understandable terms to learners with diverse levels of computer experience.
  • Strong understanding of current technology with the ability to learn new technologies quickly.



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Classroom teaching experience that included the effective use of technology in the curriculum.
  • Experience conducting training in an educational setting.
  • Masters degree in Computer Science, MIS, Education or Education Technology.



Duties:

  • Design, develop and deliver technology training to KS faculty and staff in one-to-one, small and large group settings while presenting information in a logical, accurate and effective manner.
  • Produce clear and concise user documentation to enhance training sessions.
  • Incorporate appropriate technologies to effectively deliver training to KS staff located throughout the state.
  • Effectively communicate complex topics to users of varying skill levels.
  • Conduct evaluations to assess effectiveness of delivery and content of training and prepare reports to the manager on a regular basis.
  • Contribute as a key member of the Service Desk team.
  • Develop training modules in various modalities (live workshops, web-based tutorials, self-instructional modules) for KS faculty and staff on KS standard software applications and computer operating systems.
  • Regularly assess and redesign training programs to meet changing needs and objectives.
  • Deliver training in one-to-one, small and large group settings.
  • Conduct needs assessments to determine faculty and staff needs for technology training.
  • Establish goals, objectives and priorities.
  • Establish an environment conducive to achieving those objectives, and which address different learning modalities and styles.
  • Research, design, write and produce clear user documentation and other training materials (websites, multimedia and online tutorials).
  • Conduct evaluations to assess effectiveness of delivery and content of training sessions and materials.
  • Maintain record and prepare related reports.
  • Organize, prepare and publicize training schedules and promote to users.
  • Evaluate, test and recommend new or upgraded hardware and software packages, based on features that best meet faculty and staff needs.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
