Position OverviewThe Senior Analyst works with the Asset Management Group to develop and maintain software applications and provide systems analysis and design to meet the functional and organizational requirements for Bank of Hawaii (BOH) Corporation. As a member of the Business eSolutions Team, this position works from the Corporate Office and Central Processing Facility locations in Honolulu, Hawaii.Position ResponsibilitiesDevelopment & SupportDevelops and maintains applications and program code from a given set of requirements. Analyzes system design and prepares technical documents. Reviews functional requirements and prepares technical specifications, including algorithms, screen layout, data diagrams and dictionary. Constructs program from technical specifications using a language supported by BOH's architectural standard. Debugs the program or module as appropriate to correct any defects. Provides the necessary test data to validate the program code. Develops all required documents to maintain the program code.DesignProvides systems analysis and design to meet the functional and organizational requirements for the Asset Management Group. Analyzes user requirements and provides the necessary system requirements. Translates system requirements into technical requirements and provides the necessary systems design as appropriate. Evaluates a system design against best practices and systems architecture to ensure the design conforms to BOH's architectural standards.TestingProvides system testing. Provides a plan for regression, and/or integration testing where appropriate. Provides documentation and scripts where appropriate for systems testing to ensure the application is thoroughly tested. Performs the regression/integration testing. Reports the results back to a business unit. Obtains all testing sign-offs. Tests the validity of a disaster recovery plan for an application when applicable.ImplementationImplements applications and program codes in accordance with corporate policies and standards. Prepares application implementation checklist. Provides contingency plan in case an application implementation has to be aborted. Communicates with all affected parties prior to implementation. Provides operating instructions and training materials when appropriate. Addresses all problem reports that are a result of the implementation. Prepares disaster recovery plans for applications when applicable. Monitors and provides status reports after implementation.TroubleshootingEnsures the production environment meets the agreed upon service levels. Analyzes all problems related to an application (or program code) and ensures the problem is resolved. Debugs application code. Takes steps to improve application support and implement preventive measures.
The qualified applicant for the Senior Analyst position meets the following basic requirements:
- Two or more years of college and at least two years of work-related experience in the information technology area
- Experience in using a desktop operating system, specifically Windows XP and Windows 2000 and using the command line interface
- Understanding of programming concepts, principles, and protocols
- Experience with SQL, scripting, and basic coding required
- Working knowledge of Windows 2003 Advance Server, Windows 2003, IIS, Unix, and their basic functionalities
- Strong technical documentation skills
- Project management, vendor management, good written and verbal communication skills, and ability to articulate recommended solutions and provide status reports as require
- Must have 24x7 on-call availability
- Understanding of Asset Management business practices and Asset Management application support of the Charles River Investment Management System is highly desired
