Hi

I am looking for ways to get sample data on variety of subjects, such as books, car makes, music, countries, etc.. mainly for development purposes. Does anyone have any pointers to possible sites where one could find this information? I am mostly interested in txt, cvs files.

For example, here is a way to get historic stock data for S&P 500 in cvs format.

Any other links/pointers are appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I was looking for stuff like this recently, too. I found this: theinfo.org

I haven't had a chance to look it over carefully, so I'm not certain it's what you're looking for.

I'm interested in large datasets, but I'm also interested in finding a large repository of documents for some document analysis stuff that I'm working on in my spare time.

HI Nate, this is great, thanks!

I was almost thinking it would be great if some company, such as Google, for example, started hosting Sample Data Sets of useful information that is easily accessible via a variety of methods, such as txt, cvs, xml...
Have you tried Wolfram Alpha?
