Mobile App Developer looking for six-month housesit.

I am an interactive media artist, software developer and university professor who will be spending January - June 2014 in Hawaii. I will be with my 9 and 6 year-old sons as well as my wife. We are looking for a house--sit, rent or swap.

We are very open about where to be--which island, where on which islands, etc. The only necessary conditions are that it be within walking distance of the beach, be in good shape (and not too tiny), and have two bedrooms. Our slight preference is for the Big Island, as that seems to be where everybody points us when we say we're going to be there for an extended period.

I have signed up with VRBO, Airbnb, SabbaticalHomes, etc. But, having grown up in a tourist town myself (in the northern California Sierra Nevada mountains) I know that often the best/most interesting places aren't necessarily listed--particularly longer-term like this.

I'm also interested in seeing if there are any venues which might be interested in the Poetry for Excitable [Mobile] Media project that I've been working on for the last three years. We're about to publish our sixth, seventh and eight apps in the serious, and it's been an interesting experience learning how to design and develop for the mobile environment.

I'm going to spend the time in Hawaii documenting the project, writing a few papers about it, and generally relaxing with the family.
