Mobile App Builder for the novice. Any Ideas?

Aloha,

I remember attending a meetup at Flat Bread a few years ago and someone demoed a great mobil app builder that one could use with no programming experience. I for the life of me can't remember what it was called. I am an old COBOL, FORTRAN & BASIC programmer and have nor real experience after that. 

I am asking if anyone knows the app builder name and how I can obtain it. Short of that, anyone have a suggestion as to a good app builder that will allow me to time events and count results? I know there are a lot of free "app builders" out there but mainly they have content widgets and no database loading or reporting capability. Oh yeah, this is just for personal use amongst a few colleagues so free would be better but not necessary.
