Wow, seriously? I'm amazed that courses are still being offered for MCSE Certifications (which only go up to Windows Server 2003). Sure, MCSE is still "accepted", but it's more of a Grandfathering of an older Certification than something for new candidates.

Today's candidates really should be aiming straight for an MCITP against Windows Server 2008.

With the MCSE only going as far as Windows Server 2003, candidates would probably want (need?) to upgrade that MCSE to an MCITP by taking additional MCITP-specific courses.

Both the MCITP Server Administrator (easier), or MCITP Enterprise Administrator (harder) would be worth pursuing, whether it's a straight-shot, or an upgrade-path for an MCSE.

You are correct, however the Military and Government is still requiring current and future employees to be certified in Windows Server 2003.

The Upgrade path Windows Server 2008 MCITP.

Thank you for responding.

Sally
Hello Brian thanks for the information. The other students are military and they are required to pass the MSCE. I have my Security +, A+ and Network+ plus other certification.

Thanks Sally
