Hawaii Pacific University is looking for a Manager, Applications Development.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree, or 5-7 years technical lead experience (in lieu of degree), in applications development, system development life cycle, systems analysis, coding, system testing, project management.
• Experience with a relational database environment, with emphasis on enterprise database systems and web applications.
• Ability to write technical specifications; manage onsite, remote, and contract programming staff; design and manage system integration projects.
• Experience in multi-functional project management.
• Management understanding of administrative information systems and business operations.
• Proficiency with MS Office, MS-Project, Sharepoint, business intelligence reporting tools.
• Hands–on proficiency in some of these: Java, javascript, HTML, PHP, .NET, Linux shell script, Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL.

Desired Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
• Certification, training, or experience in agile project management.
• Five or more years technical lead of administrative information systems in higher education; release management; systems development, testing, implementation; information security best practices.
• Two or more years technical knowledge of SunGard Higher Education BANNER modules, such as General, Student, Financial Aid, Finance, Luminis, HR; and Blackboard Learning Management System.
• Some proficiency in SharePoint development, Project Server, Web 2.0, Groovy, Grails, Linux RHEL5 shell script, VM server environments, Cognos 10 BI, Oracle 11g, Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports.

JOB SUMMARY:

Technical Lead / management of applications development projects for Data Services department. Perform hands-on applications development and testing. Supervise onsite and offsite software engineers and contract programmers; technical architecting, written technical programming and testing specifications for ERP, add-ons, web apps. Perform project planning, work prioritization, and manage technical resource workloads. Maintain source control and production turnover knowledge bases. Participate in technical evaluations of vendor software options.
