# Deploy, administer, maintain, and backup servers meeting COE needs; primarily CentOS Linux, and (a few) OSX servers.
# Provide second-level troubleshooting to faculty/staff technology issues if/when escalation is requested by first-level responders - may include repair, wiring, deployment and maintenance.
# Monitor LAN, server security, intrusion attempts, and liaise with ITS security officer when needed.
# Maintain current knowledge of systems administration focused on COE services; research and recommend software, hardware, and procedures that create sustainable support systems for faculty, staff and students of the College.
# Customize, and/or configure web services software in accordance with College technology plans. Collaborate with web designer to support intranet services - some of which require modification and support of a legacy LAMP application.
# Assist other IT specialist(s) in the deployment, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of their server-based systems, such Deploy Studio; MySQL, Drupal.
# Assist in the coordination of a multi-tier end-user support system for OSX, Windows and Linux desktop systems. Create master drive images for supported desktops, including software, certificates, and drivers.
# Train colleagues as backup administrators including policy and procedures in for periods of primary SysAdmin non-availability. Maintain and expand existing systems documentation.
# Make poliicy recommendations to TDP Director for secure operations and achievement of TDP goals.

NOTE: the minimum salary posted is exactly that, a MINIMUM.  Educated guess on salary would be between $55k and $75k depending on experience and credentialing, and the pay band maxes out over six figures.  This is a permanent position at UHM.
