Java Developer Wanted

Hawaii Information Consortium (HIC) is a well-established local IT company that provides Internet-based, e-government services and solutions to Hawaii state & local government partners. We are searching for a talented individual who lives on Oahu now to join our team in downtown Honolulu to help create rich web applications.

We are looking for a dedicated Java Developer to maintain cutting-edge e-commerce applications using the state-of-the-art web application development frameworks (Java) and migrate existing applications to modern/ mobile first frameworks. The right candidate will be a part of a great technical team in an excellent work atmosphere.

Duties:

• Maintain production applications with emphasis on fixing bugs.
• Migrate existing applications to mobile framework.
• Collaborate with Customer Support team for troubleshooting efforts.
• Work with the Customer Support team to create knowledge-base articles.
• Work with project managers to implement new features of applications.
• Must be comfortable exposing the truth in status, and allowing management to decide how to act.
• Java, J2EE and JSP web application support.

Desired Skills:

• Experience in Java/J2EE technologies with good understanding of MVC framework is necessary.
• Experience with web frameworks: Spring, Struts or JSF.
• Experience with php applications and frameworks.
• Experience in IOC framework and object data mapping tools such as Hibernate is necessary.
• Hands on experience of JavaScript with knowledge of JSON and jQuery are preferred.
• Relational database design and SQL.
• Strong communications and interpersonal skills.
