ITS Manager – Aston Hotels & Resorts



Position Summary:

The Manager of Information Technology Systems (ITS) provides leadership, team management and stewardship for the organization’s ITS staff. The ITS Manager manages and coordinates infomration systems to support the computing needs of the organization. The ITS Manager is responsible for the operating stability, efficiency, and security of the organization’s network systems and infrastructures. In addition to ITS operations activities, the ITS Manager may also participate in technology research, procurement, deployment, and configuration of new systems.




  • Information Technology Leadership

The ITS Manager effectively translates and incorporates strategic objectives into the organization’s technology roadmap. The ITS Manager understands the organization’s business processes, systems platforms and infrastructure architecture, and participates in their development. The ITS Manager is responsible for overseeing systems installation and integration efforts, manage expectations and works to prevent interruption to ITS services and loss of productivity. The ITS Manager establishes and maintains a strong network of technology and business contacts, and leverages these partnerships to drive the adoption of technology solutions.

  • Technology Management

The ITS Manager assists in the budget process and helps to prioritize technology initiatives, plan for technology growth and oversees the organization’s technology portfolio. The ITS Manager leads internal teams, manages vendor relationship and interacts with business partners across the organization to understand and satisfy technology needs. The ITS Manager is an advocate for the use of technology systems and ensures information assets are in place and operational. The fiscal responsibilities of the ITS Manager include assistance in developing and managing technology operating budgets, reviewing and approving ITS spending and understanding the cost elements related to the delivery of technology projects, products and systems.

  • ITS Staff Administration

In addition to the computing environment, the ITS Manager is also responsible for managing the ITS staff. The ITS Manager will facilitate staff meetings and assist staff in understanding and using technology. The ITS Manager will assign work, conduct one-on-one discussions, continually observe staff performance and provide feedback as necessary.




Position Responsibilities:

  • The ITS Manager reports to the Director of ITS.
  • Provide the company with expert opinions on new and emerging technologies that might become useful for doing business.
  • Recommend purchases of technology that will increase business efficiency, save money and facilitate corporate extension.
  • Oversee ITS staff.
  • Recruit and train staff.
  • Work with HR staff on personnel issues.
  • Communicate with other departments in the company about business needs.
  • Create IT policies and Procedures that support the efforts of the ITS Department and other departments within the company.
  • Assist ITS Director with Development of ITS Vision, Action Plans and Department Goals.
  • Manage large scale-scale technology projects and assure their completion on time, according to budget and at the expected quality level.
  • Assist with the preparation of annual budgets.
  • Oversee the monitoring and maintenance of IT assets across the company.
  • Plan the lifespan of all the companies’ technologies, including anticipated upgrades and replacements.
  • Coordinate efforts with Hotel management on the provision and maintenance of equipment where Technology is deployed.
  • Ensure that technology systems are available around the clock, and establish disaster recovery or contingency plans to assure business continuity.
  • Hire contractors and outsource when necessary to assure the company has all of the best-of-breed technologies and services at its disposal.
  • Oversee process for maintaining PCI and Regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee process for Disaster Recovery Plan.
  • Maintains Technical and Professional knowledge by attending educational workshops and conferences, reviewing professional publications and participating in professional societies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
