Kamehameha Schools has an IT Business Analyst I position available at Kawaiaha‘o Plaza, O‘ahu. Deadline to apply: 8/03/2012.

Education:

High School Diploma, GED/equivalent with 4 years of experience in an IT or software development environment doing business analysis, test development and execution, and user engagement support.

Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Business Process Re-engineering or closely related field with 1--2 years of related work experience in an IT or software development environment doing business analysis, test development and execution, and user engagement support.

Master's Degree with at least 6 months of experience in an IT or software development environment doing business analysis, test development and execution, and user engagement support.

Summary of Minimum Requirements:

  • With a High School Diploma, GED/equivalent: 4 years of experience in an IT or software development environment doing business analysis, test development and execution, and user engagement support.
  • With a Bachelor's Degree: 1--2 years of related work experience in an IT or software development environment doing business analysis, test development and execution, and user engagement support.
  • With a Master's Degree: at least 6 months of experience in an IT or software development environment doing business analysis, test development and execution, and user engagement support.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team.
  • Ability to perform business analysis and understand the needs of the business as a whole and its strategic direction.
  • Ability to elicit simple requirements by employing a variety of techniques.
  • Ability to specify simple requirements at the correct level of detail to allow successful implementation.
  • Ability to develop and maintain clear and concise analysis documentation for simple projects including process flow diagrams, detailed use cases and activity diagrams.
  • Ability to perform solution assessment and validation by verifying the correctness of a proposed solution, how to assess possible shortcomings of a solution and how to support the implementation of a solution.
  • Ability to successfully engage in multiple simple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills, including the aptitude to understanding how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain flexible in a demanding work environment and to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Excellent time management skills to plan, organize, and manage simple projects.
  • Able to provide work samples that show clear and concise business writing style.


Summary of Duties:

  • Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile simple conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
  • Investigate business systems, identify options for improving business systems and bridge the needs of the business with the use of information technology.
  • Elicit, analyze, communicate and validate requirements for changes to processes, policies and information systems.
  • Complete analysis to understand business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements and work with the IT team to recommend solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals.
