IT Business Analyst I # 012223

Kamehameha Schools has an IT Business Analyst I position available at the KS Kapālama Campus, O'ahu. The deadline to apply: 11/30/2011.

Educational Requirements:

Master's degree in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Business Process Re-engineering, or closely related field PLUS at least 6 months of experience in an IT or software development environment doing business analysis, test development and execution, and user engagement support.

OR

Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Business Process Re-engineering, or closely related field PLUS 1 - 2 years of experience in an IT or software development environment doing business analysis, test development and execution, and user engagement support.

OR

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent PLUS 4 years of experience in an IT or software development environment doing business analysis, test development and execution, and user engagement support.

Minimum Requirements:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team.
• Ability to perform business analysis and understand the needs of the business as a whole and its strategic direction.
• Ability to elicit simple requirements by employing a variety of techniques.
• Ability to specify simple requirements at the correct level of detail to allow successful implementation.
• Ability to develop and maintain clear and concise analysis documentation for simple projects including process flow diagrams, detailed use cases and activity diagrams.
• Ability to perform solution assessment and validation.
• Ability to successfully engage in multiple simple initiatives simultaneously.
• Demonstrate strong analytical skills.
• Demonstrated ability to remain flexible in a demanding work environment and to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Demonstrated aptitude to work with a team or coach to learn the development and maintenance of a variety of analysis documentation types.

Duties:

• 
  
• Work as part of business analysis team or with a coach to evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile simple conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
• Also working as part of a business analysis team or with a coach, work to investigate business systems, identify options for improving business systems and bridge the needs of the business with the use of information technology.
• Along with business analyst team or with a coach, work as liaison among stakeholders in order to elicit, analyze, communicate and validate requirements for changes to processes, policies and information systems.
• Working with a business analysis team or with a coach complete analysis to understand business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements and work with the IT team to recommend solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals.
