TechHui

Hawaiʻi's Technology Community

If you're in the downtown area, or can be, today after work, I'd like to humbly ask you to consider joining us at The Venue (Bethel St. mauka of Hawaii Theatre) for the Honolulu Twestival.

Twestival is the biggest global charity event ever organised through social media. So far, it has raised over $1.2 million for international aid. This year, 150+ cities across the world coordinating and hosting their own fundraising event to benefit a local cause.

Honolulu's cause? The Blood Bank of Hawaii. A non-profit serving Hawaii’s patients since 1941. They said they were excited to have been selected as the beneficiary. They want to partner with Honolulu's techy-set to promote awareness of the important need for blood donation, stimulate interest for the next generation of donors and increase the number of first-time donors.

Admission is $25 at the door, rack rate, but with the passphrase "Tweet Two" you can get in for $20. Most importantly, every dollar of ticket sales goes to the Blood Bank. No service charge, no "portion of the proceeds."

There'll be pupus, drinks (you get a drink ticket with admission), and great live music. There'll be a lot of other great people to meet and catch up with.

Come on down! More information here:
