Kamehameha Schools is a private, educational, charitable trust founded and endowed by the legacy of a Hawaiian Princess, Bernice Pauahi Bishop. Kamehameha Schools operates a statewide educational system enrolling more than 6,500 students of Hawaiian ancestry at K-12 campuses on O'ahu, Maui and Hawai'i and over 30 preschool sites statewide. To support our operation, Kamehameha Schools is hiring for a Help Desk Specialist in the Information Technology Division. The deadline to apply is: 10/31/2014. Below are summaries of the minimum qualifications for the Help Desk Specialist position and of the Information Technology Division:

Summary of Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field and 3-5 years of related work experience.
  • Excellent problem solving abilities and strong oral and written communication skills. Must be able to respond to problems effectively and efficiently while under time pressure.
  • Minimum of three years of trouble-shooting experience in the area of technology; microcomputers (hardware and software), telecommunications, and other related technology.
  • Strong working knowledge of standard microcomputer hardware (MAC, PC workstations and peripherals), standard microcomputer software such as Windows, MAC OS, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access), graphics (Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop), utility software (anti virus software) and Internet.


Division Summary: The Information Technology Division (ITD) at Kamehameha Schools, provides support to the organization and operating departments in all activities related to information technology management including: technical support applications development, systems maintenance, hardware/software solutions, security provisions, networking, planning and architecture, and instructional technologies. ITD strives to be a collaborative partner with education and business units to provide relevant and appropriate technology solutions to help the organization achieve its strategic goals and objectives.
