Health insurance of entrepreneurs in Hawaii

Hi,

How much does health insurance for entreprenerus cost in Hawaii? Which are the main companies in Hawaii and do you know any good health brokers I could contact?

Hi Vivek - HMSA, Kaiser, UHA, HMAA all have multiple plans for Hawaii residents. We pay about $340 for a HMAA PPO plan (medical, dental and vision) for single employees. Family plans are just over $1,000.

Are you looking for a sole proprietor plan (i.e. a plan for independent contractors)? Kaiser introduced sole proprietor plans a couple of years ago but I don't know the cost. I would just give them a call and ask.

If you are coming from another employer make sure to extend your insurance with COBRA while you are looking around.
