Hawaiian Airlines is looking for a Director of Project Management Office to work with teams and develop information systems strategies with business users based on business objectives, and identify cost/benefit impact to the company of proposed projects.

- Provide direction in management of various systems projects of significant magnitude in terms of complexity, cost, time-constraints, internal and external staffing, and hardware/software
- Proactively plan for allocation of appropriate resources to meet timely completion of business units’ initiatives
- Provide direction and support to Program Managers to evaluate, prioritize and determine the cost effectiveness of proposed information technology initiatives pre-governance
- Ensure collaboration with the Application team, to address all points of integration are identified and costs/resources are considered in alignment with all project schedules
- Ensure adherence to processes and methodologies for IT project management and business analysis, based on industry best practices while driving process improvements and innovations within the department
- Actively work with Program Managers to resolve issues, and communicate project status to the business, stakeholders and operational management
- Provide direction and guidance to the Business Analyst Manager to ensure proactive planning for resource allocation in support of assigned business units’ objectives and in alignment with the various Program Managers
- Ensure strategy in place for contingency planning and risk mitigation for running multiple complex programs and projects
- Manage adherence to the various phases of Hawaiian Airlines’ software development life cycle to ensure adherence to SOX controls
- Work collaboratively with peers in IT for awareness and planning
- Keep senior IT management and the IT Steering Committee apprised of project status, issues and concerns
- Ability to work effectively in a complex environment involving rapidly changing priorities and provide teams with guidance and direction to address
- Facilitate direct report’s performance reviews, identifying training and development requirements and plans
- Coach, mentor and develop team members on managing 3rd party vendor hosted solutions
Basic Requirements
- College degree, relevant certifications and professional training programs
- Minimum 10 years of project management experience, with at least five years of relevant industry / functional experience
- Over 10 years of professional experience and working knowledge of structured software development life cycle
- Experience with financial management of project budgets
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams and manage differing points of view
- Over 10 years of professional experience and working knowledge of structured software development life cycle
- Demonstrated knowledge and practice of project management principles, methodologies and terminology
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Strong collaboration skills and building relationships in a cross-functional work environment

- Airline industry experience
- Graduate Degree
- PMP Certified
- Six Sigma
- Advanced level of competency with office productivity tools such as MS Office and process mapping tools such as Visio
