Makai's management group is looking for an individual with a technical background combined with education and experience in business management to assist the company in internal development and business expansion. An ideal candidate would have the following qualifications:

•Bachelor’s Degree in Sciences, preferably in Engineering or Physics
•Master’s Degree in Business Administration or other relevant Business field or equivalent experience.
•Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the business development, management and administration of an engineering firm or other business providing technical services, consulting services, software, or closely allied products.
•Working knowledge of DoD technology development, contracting and purchasing procedures through professional experience or past military career.
•Strong written/oral communication skills, willingness to adapt to a flexible work schedule, willingness to travel and strong interpersonal skills.
•General aptitude with personal computers and with the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
•Willingness to take a leadership role in a small company to help improve its competitive position, efficiency, employee resources, management practices and expand its client base.

This individual will become part of Makai’s management and business development team and will take a leadership role in a federally sponsored Mentor Protégé program on which the company is about to embark. The individual will need to understand well the technical capabilities offered by Makai to be able to market Makai’s technology to DoD and the commercial industry. The individual must be able to identify topics of interest, organize and participate in proposal writing, support the technical personnel during the process of contract negotiations, presentations to the client and product delivery.
