Kamehameha Schools has a Distance Learning Instructor - A'o Makua Hawaiian Language Courses (Temporary) position available at Kapālama Campus, O'ahu.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Technology or related field.
Summary of Minimum Requirements:
- 2 -- 3 years of related work experience.
- Thorough knowledge of the subject area(s) to be taught.
- Demonstrated knowledge in distance learning theories, instructional strategies, and technologies..
- Demonstrated competence with computers, learning management systems (such as Blackboard), and a basic suite of desktop applications (word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet), email, locating Web resources and creation of online curriculum.
- Background in educational instruction, including curriculum development and facilitation of distance learning courses.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Completion of a distance learning training program or equivalent.
Summary of Duties:
The Distance Learning Curriculum Instructor is essential to a Virtual Learning team who extends educational opportunities to through the use of appropriate distance learning technologies. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Instruction and facilitation of adult distance learning courses by incorporating distance learning pedagogy, learning theories and technologies and the integration of Hawaiian history, language and cultural practices.
- Assess and maintain records of participant performance and assist in implementing assessment and related activities.
- Participate in the evaluation of Kamehameha Schools' Distance Learning courses, programs, and services.
- Engage in professional development activities to continually update skills and knowledge on current and emerging technologies, learning theories, and best practices in distance education.
