Primary Responsibilities: Develops specifications for software programming applications and modifies/maintains the existing software. Develops, modifies and maintains applications that may be customized or standardized. Participates in design and coding activities with other staff members. Performs system administration and support, as well as network and other infrastructure related support duties.

 

Essential Duties:

  1. Designs/codes applications following specifications using the appropriate tools.
  2. Participates in client meetings and presentations as may be required.
  3. Maintains and modifies existing applications on their own as well as under direction from senior staff members.
  4. Performs maintenance programming for existing version. Performs custom programming at customer request.
  5. Effectively interfaces with client contacts as may be necessary to effectively perform and maintain the project assignments.
  6. Consults and critiques with other team members regarding technical plans, schematics, procedures, and so forth for the development of Web/Internet based systems and applications.
  7. Assumes responsibility for ongoing data architecture for products.
  8. Keeps time records to track whether projects are developed within scope, budget, and on time.

10.  Contributes openly to development and refinement of processes and procedures that will enhance the quality and efficiency of the development process.

11.  Supports any technical infrastructure requirements and needs of the company and its clients as may be required.

 

Other Duties:

  1. Reacts to change productively and handles other essential tasks as assigned by team members or supervisor.
  2. Attends educational courses as required or as option as it relates to duties and responsibilities.
  3. Follows company policies and procedures.

 

 

Working Conditions:    Indoors, air-condition office.

 

Equipment Used:         Computer, printer, filing cabinets, phone, fax and other miscellaneous materials.

 

Work Hours:                 Work to be performed from 8:30am – 5:30pm, Monday through Friday. May be required to work on weekends and after hours and be on call.

 

Physical Demands:      Able to lift 30-40 lbs. (unassisted) occasionally for server transportation, pick up and drop off of equipment as necessary, transport of computers in office, etc.

 

Mental Demands:         Able to work under tight deadlines and changing project schedules; use judgement or discretion; work under minimal supervision; follow written and verbal instructions; works cooperatively with others, etc.

 

Communication Demands:       Requires good oral and written communication with supervisor, co-workers and others in English. 

 

Skills/Knowledge:        In addition to being able to fulfill physical, mental, and communication demands listed

above,  must have ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to other technical staff members; ability to interface well with professional service staff and other non-technical members of the organization; demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies; and knowledge relating to the area in which analysis and coding is performed. Must be able to manage multiple priorities and have good organization skills. Must be computer PC proficient; able to use email and Internet programs, Word, Excel, Project 2000, and pertinent development, database and scripting applications, i.e, MS Access, MS VB, .NET, C#, MSSQL, etc.

 

Desired Education and Experience:     

 

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Electrical Engineering

 

At least two (2) years experience working directly with users, conducting requirements interviews, writing system documentation, and working within a structured system development methodology.

 

AND ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING

 

At least three (3) years experience developing .NET based applications within the past five (5) years.

 

At least three (3) years of MS DBA experience within the past five (5) years

 

At least three (3) years of experience developing MS VB based applications within the past five (5) years.
