I'll be there!
Hi Shawn,

Mika and I look forward to meeting you at Unconferenze this Saturday.

BTW - For those who prepay, will you have a list at the door or do we need to bring something with us?
update: it made the news!

Many thanks to Shawn, Burt and the other organizers of this event. I wasn't really sure what to expect. I admit I was a little worried I would end up hanging out with a handful of (fellow) geeks sitting around staring at each other. Luckily this was not the case. Attendance was very good. Attendees ranged from bloggers and gadget enthusiasts to hard core programmers and venture capitalists. People had plenty to present and discuss. In fact, we seemed to run out of time in almost every session.

I particularly enjoyed hearing Roxanne and Shane talk about the making of their video podcasts, the unexpected presentation on eco-friendly autonomous open ocean fish farms, the lively debate sparked by Michal Anne Rogondino's presentation on GUI design, and Truman Leung's presentation of his very impressive Ascribe church management software.

My only complaint is that it started a bit early. For those of us not in the area, driving out to Hawaii Kai at 8:00 in the morning on a Saturday is less than ideal. I think this is especially true for the younger folks (younger than me) that are out on Friday nights ;-) I heard more than one attendee grumbling about this, especially before the caffeine set in.

This minor complaint aside, the event was clearly a success. To those of you that didn't make it this time around, I highly recommend you make an effort to attend next time!
