Hawaiian Hope is a Technology Based Non Profit Organization, and we are looking for a volunteer coordinator.

Hawaiian Hope provides services to other non profits with a strong focus on homeless services and disaster management. We currently manage the data of 6 of the states largest homeless shelters and the personal data of over 3,200 individuals. We expect to be working with 10 shelters by the end of the year and managing the data of over 5,500 people. We build computer classrooms, provide computers to families moving back into housing, conduct training classes in the use of computers, and design online web based data management tools for non profit organizations to use to manage their facilities and day-to-day operations.

We have several "mobile" projects in the works including a mobile computer classroom - disaster communications center, a Mobile Laundry service - Disaster hygiene and water purification plant. We compile data that is used to secure grant funding for organizations, report data directly to various state offices and form solid relationships with these offices and other organizations in order to strengthen the lives of the people in our communities.

Are you the right person for us ?

Your responsibilities as a Volunteer Coordinator : Recruit other volunteers, coordinate what locations they will be working at, track their skillsets and plug them into our and other organizations that can use their skills. This is currently a volunteer position but will likely turn into a full time paying job.

Skills Needed :
1) MUST love people, be energetic, a self-starter and have a POSITIVE attitude.
2) Must have a commitment to excellence and understand good communications.
3) Must be dependable.
4) An understanding of technology is rather helpful but not necessary
