This 5-day course aims to give high school aged students a solid understanding of the core concepts and technologies behind front-end web development. The course begins with foundations of HTML (HyperText Markup Language), the main structural element of the web, including discussion about how best to use HTML5. Students also learn how to use CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) to create page layouts for websites. Introductory programming concepts are discussed as students learn to incorporate interactivity via JavaScript. Additional topics include publishing to the web via FTP, cross browser debugging, and responsive design.
