ThinkTech Event

ThinkTech and its friends will present our 2014 Legislative Mid-term Update featuring Bob Toyofuku of Hawaii Advocates as moderator with a panel of leading state finance officials at the Downtown Laniakea YWCA on Thursday, March 27th from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.

The panel members are as follows:

Sen. David Ige - Chair, Senate Ways and Means Committee
Rep. Aaron Ling Johanson - House Minority Leader; Vice-Chair House Finance Committee
Rep. Sylvia Luke - Chair, House Finance Committee
Kalbert Young - State Budget and Finance Director

They say we have a spare $844 million. How much do we really have and how are we going to spend it, or not. What effect, if any, will our current $40 billion of unfunded liabilities have on all this.

Now, in an election year, what are the real priorities that are going to determine the state's expenditures in the final result of the 2014 Legislature.

In this program we will cover current fiscal issues and bills of interest to the business community, and we'll look at their provisions, price tags, political dynamics and probabilities of passage this year.

This is an essential program for anyone who wants to know the fiscal state of the state and where the money is going to go, or who wants to network with legislators and like minded attendees. Register on thinktechhawaii.com. We look forward to seeing you there.

The cost of admission and lunch is $30 for the public, $20 for students and $35 for walk-ins.  Please register early using the PayPal buttons below.  We do not provide parking, but you can park in Pioneer Plaza or across the street in Harbor Court.
