The Maui Volunteer Emergency Response Initiative
The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) on Maui is hosting a broad overview presentation of the emergency response services active here on Maui.
Presentation by Joe Bardwell, Chief Scientist at Connect802
Joe Bardwell will be presenting a broad overview of the emergency response services active here on Maui. Joe is a permanent resident of the island and is HAM radio operator (AH6CU), active in emergency communications and is a member of the County Emergency Communications Committee of the Civil Defense agency. He is a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) member and is a Senior Member of the Civil Air Patrol based at Kahului Airport. Joe has been active in on-island emergency services and participated in the Army National Guard, Red Cross, CERT, FEMA and FBI joint preparedness exercise conducted in conjunction with the Maui Fire Department and local law enforcement as well as various CERT training exercises.
Society of Women Engineers (SWE) activities are open to everyone, both men and women – all interested, please join us.
Don't forget to mark your 2014 calendars for the 2nd Tuesday of every month! Meetings range from technical topics and presenters, to happy hours and networking. Remember SWE activities are open to both men and women. Your active participation will help strengthen the engineering pipeline in the state of Hawaii!
