Event Description

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a term everyone who has a hand in web design and development should know. Everyone wants their site at the top of search results. In this session, we take a look at different concerns and techniques involved in SEO. Topics include the importance of SEO, best practices, onsite/off-site factors, page rank, inbound vs. outbound links, leveraging social media, Google Authorship, natural and paid SEO options, and white hat vs. black hat tactics.

Sarah Soward is an artist and designer who has been teaching the Adobe Creative Suite as well as design theory and practice for over a decade. Her latest endeavors include technical editing on the HTML5 Mobile Development Cookbook, coauthoring the WordPress and Flash Cookbook, and animation and coding on a storytelling tool for Kaiser Permanente that won a Gold Quill Excellence Award.
