The key to successful application design and development is getting your ideas out quickly and testing them through an iterative approach, refining your apps structure with each iteration. Rapid prototyping is the process of quickly mocking up your user interface so you can start testing the interactions, proportions, and navigation flow of your app on a target device. This course covers how to rapidly develop wireframes and interactive prototypes of your app using Adobe Fireworks. By the end of this course, you will have a solid foundation in information architecture and interaction design, and know how to develop prototypes to test out your apps concepts.
Mike King is a user interface designer at Ikayzo, an interactive design agency based in Honolulu. Mike specializes in user experience and interface design for desktop, web, and mobile applications. He has created interactive designs for educational institutions including University of Hawaii at Manoa and Kapiolani Community College as well as web and mobile brand identities for local startups including Frii, GreenMap, and FrameUp.
