Event Description

Students at any experience level learn to create native mobile apps using basic web development languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for deployment to the web, desktop, and iOS and Android. Explore tools such as PhoneGap and Titanium to compile native applications from web-friendly assets. Covers developing for Android and iOS mobile devices, building platform-neutral apps and targeting OS-specific features, and results in a finished iPhone or iPad app.

Level: Beginner to Intermediate. Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript recommended, not required. (Class is programming-centric, but focused on mobile development, rather than specifically on JavaScript programming. Even novices are able to develop apps using code snippets.)

NOTE: iOS device not required. Code created runs in a desktop simulator. To test on your iPhone or iPad, you must enroll in the iOS Developer program ($99/year, http://developer.apple.com/programs/ios/).
