A great user experience is the difference between products people will try and products people love. Designing and developing a great user experience requires applying best practices to create effective and intuitive design solutions, expressing ideas through sketching user tasks and scenarios, and communicating solutions to business requirements that meet user goals. In this course, we discuss the foundations and process of user experience design, including user-centered and goal-directed design principles, information architecture (wireframing), interaction design techniques (wireframing and prototyping), and practices for designing intuitive user-interfaces.
Mike King is a user experience designer at Ikayzo, an interactive design agency based in Honolulu. Mike specializes in interaction design for desktop, web, and mobile applications. He has created interactive designs for educational institutions including University of Hawaii at Manoa and Kapiolani Community College as well as web and mobile brand identities for local startups including Frii, GreenMap, and FrameUp.
