HVCA Entrepreneur and Deal of the Year Luncheon January 24, 2013

The Hawaii Venture Capital Association is proud to invite you to its annual Entrepreneur and Deal of the Year award ceremony, Thursday, 11:30AM, January 24, 2013.  This annual tradition is all about celebrating Hawaii entrepreneurs and deal-makers who stand out as local heroes and role models.

Our keynote speaker this year is Dan Freedman, a highly successful serial high-tech entrepreneur who has started, financed, grown and sold companies in the networking and security sectors.  Today, Freedman invests in and advises growth-stage companies, putting both his public company executive management and private company entrepreneurship experience to work.  His first company, FSA Corporation, was acquired by McAfee in 2006.  He was also a co-founder of Canada’s highly acclaimed venture investment house, Launchworks, that had several successful exits including Guest-Tek, the largest in-room Internet provider in the world.  Dan lives in Hawaii and serves on the investment committee of iNovia Capital, the Hawaii Angels Deal Screening Committee, the mentor board of Blue Startups and is an advisor to the Entrepreneurs’ Foundation.

The luncheon program begins with registration at 11:30AM on January 24, 2013 at the Plaza Club, 900 Fort Street Mall, 20th Floor.  The program will start promptly at NOON where we will hear from our guest speaker, then move on to the award ceremony.  We will honor five entrepreneurs then announce the Hawaii Venture Capital Association Deal of the Year winner.

Register to attend at HVCA.ORG or call Gail at 382-4638.  Notice our new pricing policy:  Members, affiliates (including TechHuians, faculty and government) attend at the member rate of $29 with pre-registration, $35 dollars if you pay at the door.  Students are $20, all others are $39 with pre-registration, $45 if you pay at the door.  Space is limited, so sign up early.  Parking is available at the Pioneer Plaza building and at Harbor Court, but we do not validate.
