Hawaii Telecommunications Association presents "The Hawaii Broadband Initiative: A Conversation to Envision the Future of Hawaii"

Please join the Hawaii Telecommunications Association and Yuka Nagashima of the State of Hawaii's High Technology Development Corporation.  Yuka will discuss the Governor's newly announced "Hawaii Broadband Initiative" to Bring Affordable World Class Internet Service by 2018."  As Executive Director & CEO, Ms. Nagashima leads the State's efforts in technology-based economic development through HTDC's mission to develop sound policy for the growth of the innovation economy in Hawaii, development of technology parks and infrastructure and by providing assistance to entrepreneurial businesses. After a brief presentation of the Hawaii Broadband Initiative, there will be an opportunity for the audience to provide their input.

Yuka brings over 10 years of executive management and startup experience in the Internet industry, as a co-founder of LavaNet, an award-winning local ISP.  She leverages to navigate within the government and to bridge the gap between the public sector and the community. HTDC's projects include the management of the Manoa Innovation Center and the Maui Technology and Research Center. She serves as an adviser to many organizations including Pacific Center for Advanced Technology Training and the Small Business Development Center of Hawaii.
