Event Description

What must be done to establish our state as a premier technology and cyber-security hub in the Asia-Pacific region? That’s the question Hawaii’s Chief Advisor for Technology and Cyber-Security to the Governor, Sanjeev “Sonny” Bhagowalia, will explore at the Hawaii Information Communications and Technology Association’s (HICTA) April 15th luncheon program at the Pacific Club.

In February 2014, Gov. Neil Abercrombie promoted Bhagowalia from CIO to his newly created position. Prior to moving to Hawaii in July 2011 as Hawaii’s first CIO, Bhagowalia held senior executive service positions for 12 years within the U.S. Government, including the U.S. General Services Administration, U.S. Department of the Interior and Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, U.S. Department of Justice In addition to his public sector experience, Bhagowalia served with distinction in Industry for over 14 years with the Boeing Company as Chief Engineer/Manager. He is a graduate from Syracuse University and Louisiana State University with Masters and Bachelor’s Degrees in Engineering and Management.
