Computer security is an area with 0% unemployment! This hands-on class runs from Jan 27 till May 11, 2012.
The class uses lecture and labs to cover the basics of computer security. The class can be used as a stepping stone for COMP TIA Security+ and CISSP certifications.
The class will cover Unix and system administration on Unix, computer networks, software engineering, and management aspects. We will install and run various programs on Unix, write cryptographic and other code, and discuss/implement planning, budgeting, hiring, physical security, and other issues.
Based on the needs and suggestions of the students in the class, the class might focus on different topics.
Each student will do a supervised individual project of their choice.
You can take this course even if not an HPU student: http://www.hpu.edu/admissions/specialstatus.html Cost is $990 plus one off $220 registration fee for non HPU students.
Feel free to contact the instructor at mbarjaktarovic@hpu.edu.
