Event Description

Can you walk over and kick your email server? Is this a good thing? Are you running your company`s web applications on your own hardware? Does this really save you money or make you more secure? Discuss cloud computing, software as a service (SaaS), and platform as a service (PaaS). In addition to comparing traditional on-site options to cloud offerings, he covers security in the cloud, the economics of the cloud, the range of offerings available, and the differences between the popular cloud platforms offered by companies such as Amazon, Salesforce and Google.

Daniel Leuck, CEO of Ikayzo, was senior vice president of research and development for Tokyo-based ValueCommerce, Asia`s largest online marketing company; global head of development for London-based, Europe`s largest B2C website; and president of the US division of DML. Dan has extensive experience managing teams of 200+ developers in five countries. He has served on numerous advisory boards and panels for companies such as Macromedia and Sun Microsystems. Dan is active in the Java community, is a contributor to BeanShell, the project lead for SDL, and sits on the expert groups standardizing Java 6, Scientific Units in Java, Java Modules, and the Swing Application Framework.
