Is there a group registration discount? I'm putting together a group of independent Rails hackers, and every buck we can save goes into the 'food and beer' pool... :)

New to Rails? Learn how to build, test, and deploy your Rails application at our full day Rails Training. http://www.alohaonrails.com/schedule/rails-training-in-paradise/

I may be biased :), but I think you'll like Rails on JRuby. JRuby is incredibly fast (faster than Ruby 1.8.6) and they done a lot of work to make deployment incredibly easy.

A comparison of JRuby on Rails to Groovy/Grails would also be very interesting for Java web developers. However, there are so many different web app frameworks, that I understand if you want to focus on just one.

David,

You're in luck. We'll have the lead for JRuby and will have sessions on how to use JRuby to deploy (very easily, it turns out) Rails projects into a Java environment.

Turns out you can have your cake and eat it, too!

Hope to see you at the conference!

UH MIS is trying a couple projects in Rails, but most are in Java so far. So, I've started using Groovy and plan to try Grails soon too. I'd love to see some content about that alternative, for shops that are committed to Java, to get into a high-productivity, dynamic, coding-by-convention web framework.

How to calculate the value of Aloha on Rails. Hint: it's an incredibly good value!
