Come hang out for Dinner & a Movie with Tech Oahu at 6 p.m. on Tuesday June 17, 2008 at Oceanit.
We’ll be watching two great presentations discussing usability and user feedback and have time after them to eat and discuss.
A great big thanks to Ian Kitajima (@ikitajima) and Oceanit for hosting us. Please RSVP to ssavara [at] hotmail [dot] com to help us plan.
Our tech-centric presentation for this instance is by Paul Buchheit, founder of FriendFeed and creator of GMail, discussing how to listen to your users (video from Startup School 08). In his talk, Paul talks about some of the challenges in getting accurate user feedback, how to parse user feedback, and how to build a successful web application by focusing on features users want.
We’ll pair this with a non tech video from TED, where Malcolm Gladwell gets inside the food industry’s pursuit of the perfect spaghetti sauce. It’s a fascinating story about parsing user feedback from surveys and the story of Ragu versus Prego, and the different way they approached targeting customers.
There will be plenty of time following the presentations to eat, hang out, and discuss the presentations or other tech subjects and/or usability concerns. Feel free to invite a friend and we looking forward to seeing you there!
Bring $5 if you want pizza; drinks are free!
