Update-
I found a speaker to talk about Flex for November, and we will have an advanced speaker in January.
Hello,
I am looking for a flex speaker to give a talk on using Flex for Beginners for the Hawaii Flash User group. I was planning to give the talk myself, but I am having so many problems getting flex to not crash on Snow Leopard (if anybody here can solve the hot fix issue, I would be stoked).

Therefore I am looking for somebody to give the talk. It could be done using the "Learn Flex in a week" series, or anything you might have planned. The talk will be aimed at people just learning Flex, and so this will be a talk for newbies.

if you are interested in speaking for the group, please leave a comment here or email me at hawaiiflash@gmail.com

Thank you,
John Barrett

Odd, I've been developing flex on Snow Leopard without issues. I was on flex 3 + updates, but switched to flex 4 (i.e. Flash Builder) and have been stoked better performance over flex 3...

Any reason you can't just use flash builder? Specifically, I'm using FB with an updated flex sdk 3.4.1 (not flex 4.0)...so http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashbuilder4/ and http://opensource.adobe.com/wiki/display/flexsdk/Download+Flex+3

Hope this helps...

Hi, thanks for the reply. I did re install FlashBuilder beta 2 and it is working in code mode (with no issues), but crashes as soon as I switch to design mode. I have submitted 2 bugs in the bugs list at the flex site.

I do see in the error log for the latest that it is finding two java versions (1.5 & 1.6), and I am not sure if this is the issue, but my latest problem(which is fine for me, prefer code mode personally) is listed by several people on the bug list, so this is an issue other people are having in FlashBuilder.

I have tried to install Flash Builder so many times, today after doing the apple updates I find one that is working, for me Flex & Snow Leopard have not played nice together.

Thanks again for your help,
Johnny`--`
