The High Technology Development Corporation (HTDC), an agency of the State of Hawaii, is responsible for promoting and advancing technology-based economic development in Hawaii.  It develops and manages incubation facilities and programs for all islands, oversees a variety of federally funded programs in outreach and innovation, and supports the internationalization of Hawaii’s technology community.

INNOVATE Hawaii; a program operated by HTDC is seeking a talented professional for its Technical Sales Manager position, out of its Honolulu office.  This position will be responsible for identifying high tech and manufacturing companies that would experience a positive impact on their performance and profitability through HTDC’s services.  This position will also be expected to build and maintain long-term relationships with the INNOVATE Hawaii clients to maximize their return on investment.

Qualified candidates will have progressively responsible sales experience in technical sales, marketing, consulting services or related function; a Bachelors degree in an engineering or business discipline or equivalent is highly recommended.  Master’s degree in business or engineering would be beneficial.  Requires effective management, analytical and interpersonal skills; strong verbal and written communication skills.  Knowledge of Innovation Acceleration, Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR), and Lean and/or Six Sigma is helpful.

This is a salaried, at-will position, exempt from State civil service that features State benefits that includes vacation and sick leave, health insurance, life insurance and retirement plan.  Applicants must be a citizen, permanent resident alien or national of the United States, and a resident of the State of Hawaii.  Non-citizens with unrestricted employment authorization from the United State Immigration and Naturalization Service may also apply. Hawaii law requires that all public employees become residents of the State of Hawaii within thirty days from the date they begin their employment and as a continued condition of employment.
