Social Media Club: Start the New Year off with Social!

Our January meeting will kick off with a discussion of two leading trends we are seeing for 2011:
Mobile Interactivity and Smart Phone Apps
Have you built one? Which ones do you use? Which ones do your customers use? How are you managing mobile communication and customer support? Have you upgraded your phone recently? What are your organization’s smart phone policies? There is a lot to chew on!

The Intersection of IT, HR, and Marketing
Most social media begins in the Marketing Department, but now HR is discovering there are advantages for recruiting as well as policy considerations. IT, it might be said, now has some fun stuff to support in terms of unblocking access to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and adding blogs to the company’s IT assets. How is your organization cooperating among these historically divided departments? Who gets to be in charge, overall? What policies are really needed and how do you decide?

We will have a short facilitated presentation about each of these topics followed by our popular round table discussions where we figure out how we are going to incorporate these trends in our businesses, nonprofits, and communities. We also want to hear what trends you are seeing and implementing in your social media activities.
