Event Description

What is Reboot the Commute?

Reboot the Commute is a two-day Urban Mobility Challenge that brings together developers, UX designers, entrepreneurs and creators who want to make the journey better for travelers. Solutions and opportunities for smart applications that can help solve some of Hawaii’s most pressing transportation problems are at the heart of this hackathon-style event where teams will compete to take their idea to prototype. We are looking for innovations in the connected, autonomous, electric and shared vehicle space along with ways to solve some of the greatest challenges facing our urban centers (moving people and goods more efficiently) — all while decreasing the resulting environmental impacts.

Eligibility

  • Participation in Reboot the Commute is open to individuals and teams of developers based in Hawaii
  • Professional developers and student developers are welcome
  • Participants must by 18 years or older (all must bring their Eventbrite ticket and photo ID for admission)
  • Companies, organizations, meetup groups, technology clubs and individuals/teams are welcome
  • $1,000 Cash plus additional prizes will be awarded in each of three challenge areas
