Event Description

Unless you live completely off the grid, you’ve probably heard of APIs – after all a huge part of HTML5 relies on APIs. But once you get past those first three letters, you run into REST, HTTP, JSON, XML, RPC, SOAP, and soon you are swimming in alphabet soup.

Greg discusses the whys of APIs, current trends, and best practices in API design. Whether you are a developer, or just need to communicate with one, this session provides you with a solid understanding of APIs, clears up the acronym mess, and turns the alphabet soup into a nourishing meal.

Greg Rewis, the principal evangelist at Apigee, is responsible for evangelizing their digital business platform to mobile developers. Greg was the principal evangelist for Adobe Systems, focusing on Adobe's open web products and technologies such as HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript. He is an internationally respected expert in the field of web design/development, mobile development and sought-after speaker at industry events including An Event Apart, SxSW, WebDirections, and Future of Web Design.
